Recently I have focused on rebar trellis work in a variety of styles ranging from flat panels to three dimensional organic forms. This material has proven to be ideal for building strong, open structures able to support vegetables as large as squash and melons and flowering vines as strong as hydrangea and wisteria. The texture of rebar adds an interesting visual element and provides an excellent climbing surface for vining plants. Although the screens shown here have been made for specific purposes such as room dividers, window gratings and fence sections, there are numerous other practical applications. With slight modification they can be used as screen door frames, light boxes, table tops,headboards and trellises. A more complex design scheme could be utilized as a security grate for a door or a window.
I also make plant stands of various styles, etageres, baker's stands, music stands, benches, railings and enclosures. All of my work is hand crafted from original designs and treated to be weather resistant. Since each piece is custom made the cost will vary according to complexity of design and the type and amount of material used.
